1940: Appearance of first costumed hero, The Spider.
1940-1943: Other costumed heroes appear: Mask, Silhouette and Darkvenger & Talon
1941-1945: WWII draws the heroes into the military as part of the Armed Services Paranormal Division (A.S.P.D.) except for Mask, who is later discovered in Canada as part of their secret service. Darkvenger and Talon are sent on a mission that results in Talon's death. His body was not recovered. The Spider returns from the war and resumes his station as a hero. Silhouette also returns, but shortly thereafter drops from the public spotlight. Investigations into her whereabouts have yielded no clues as to her disappearance.
The results of the ASPD were seen as instrumental to the Allies winning the war. It was disbanded in 1945, after Silhouette's disappearance, to the great disappointment of both the military and the American people.
1950's: At the height of McCarthyism, the Crossbow Incident in 1953 causes public outrage. The FBI and the recently created CIA merge into a single entity: The Federal Espionage and Intelligence Network: International Communications System. (F.E.I.N.I.C.S)
1951: Darkvenger, still distraught about Talon's death, enters the Korean War only to executed as an alleged spy by the North Korean Army.
1972: Men are arrested for breaking into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Office complex in Washington, D.C. Although nothing is confirmed, rumors abound in certain circles that Silhouette has resurfaced and was responsible for the men being apprehended.
1975: FEINICS brings their first computer network online.
1983: Restructuring of FEINICS, which is now the Federal Espionage and Intelligence Network International Computer System.
